ePLDT Inks Partnership with Acronis
The increasing demand for digital services has pushed ePLDT to secure a partnership with Acronis to increase security against cyber threats.
ePLDT, the ICT arm of PLDT Enterprise, has formed a partnership with Acronis, a back-up software, cloud storage, and cybersecurity company, to increase their defense against cyber threats and enable full data recovery for their clients.
“We are pleased to partner with Acronis for us to truly deliver solutions of real value to the market and we are sure that our combined expertise in DR systems will enable enterprises to work with ease of mind and confidence,” said Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP & Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.
The Acronis Cyber Readiness Report 2020 revealed that 92% of global companies adopted new technologies to enable remote work due to the health safety protocols imposed by the government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report also showed that 50% faced cyberattacks at least once a week. Companies have experienced different cybercrimes, such as fake websites, phishing attacks, malware, etc. signifying the importance of security against cyberattacks.
“The increasing need to employ work-from-home arrangements today requires extreme vigilance when it comes to securing a company’s IT infrastructure,” said Vic Tria, PLDT FVP & Enterprise Revenue Group Head.
ePLDT will also utilize Acronis’ Cyber Cloud service, a platform that delivers an easy, efficient, and secure cloud service. This service allows their customers to have a comprehensive console for their hybrid cloud back-up, recovery, and AI-powered anti-malware services.
In a press release, ePLDT and Acronis has recently formalized their partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, with the said new products set to be introduced subsequently. (ASC)
