Entry to Jeju, Yangyang Now Visa-Free for Filipinos
Filipinos may now enjoy visa-free entry to Jeju Island and Yangyang starting today, according to the Korean Embassy in Manila.
The embassy released a statement, saying that Filipinos are now allowed to enter the beautiful island and stay for up to 30 days.
“For Jeju, Filipino tourists are allowed to enter the beautiful island via direct flights only and stay up to 30 days,” the statement from the Korean Embassy in Manila read.
However, Filipino tourists are not allowed to travel to other regions outside Jeju Island.
“Some airlines are reportedly planning to schedule direct flights from the Philippines to Jeju soon. However, tourists are not permitted to travel to other regions outside Jeju,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, for visa-free entry to Yangyang, Filipino tourists must acquire a tour program from a designated travel agency.
Filipino tourists may stay up to 15 days visa-free in Yangyang and are allowed to travel to cities and other areas specifically in Gangwon Province and the Seoul Metropolitan Area.
Filipino tourists must travel back to the Philippines via the Yangyang International airport.
A negative RT-PCR test result issued within 48 hours before the departure date or a negative rapid antigen test result issued within 24 hours before the departure date is still a requirement.
Moreover, fully vaccinated tourists will be exempted from the quarantine, but are required to apply for a Q-CODE.
The Q-CODE is a QR code that will contain the tourist’s vaccination records.
The requirement must be complied with before departure. (GFB)
