President Ferndinand R. Marcos Jr. and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Fred Pascual led the distribution of assistance to business owners affected by calamities in South Cotabato on June 14, 2023.

“The DTI is always ready to assist Filipino consumers and ensure that they have access to high quality and affordable basic necessities at prime commodities (BNPCs). We are committed to assist businesses, particularly MSMEs to help them recover from calamities and other crises.” Pascual said.

Nine sari-sari store beneficiaries received livelihood kits from DTI through Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginahawa (PPG) Program. Each beneficiary received P9,000 to P14,000 cash aid.

The PPG program aims to provide livelihood kits or financial assistance to victims of fire accidents, flooding, typhoons, and other natural disasters.

Meanwhile, DTI gave machinery to six cooperatives under the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program.

SSF program is one of DTI’s flagship programs that aim to provide new technologies, equipment, and facilities to cooperatives, associations, and other businesses and labor groups which will help elevate production and develop small businesses by providing them with new and sufficient technological knowledge.

Moreover, DTI also held Kadiwa ng Pangulo in South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center. (ASC)
