The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched its Online Negosyo Program (ONP) on October 10, aiming to help Filipino businesses thrive in the growing digital economy.

Led by DTI’s E-Commerce Bureau, the new program is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the skills they need to succeed in the online marketplace. Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the program’s importance in supporting the government’s push for digital transformation.

“We are committed to helping local businesses adapt to new technologies and advance their digital capabilities,” Roque said. “Our partnerships with key industry leaders will provide entrepreneurs the tools and resources necessary to remain competitive in the global market.”

The ONP will feature nine learning modules that cover essential topics, including digital literacy, online presence building, digital marketing, AI in business, and cybersecurity. These modules are developed in collaboration with e-commerce platforms, digital payment providers, and logistics companies.

In addition to industry support, DTI has partnered with educational institutions such as Hapinoy, Thames International, and Bayan Academy to ensure high-quality learning content. The modules will be available through the DTI’s e-commerce microsite and integrated into its ongoing programs to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The initiative is part of DTI’s broader efforts to strengthen the country’s e-commerce landscape and help Filipino businesses succeed in the digital age. (ASC)
