Beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will soon be eligible for social security benefits under the AlkanSSSya Program of the Social Security System (SSS).

On July 8, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed at the DSWD Central Office by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and SSS President and CEO Rolando Macasaet. This agreement will provide low-cost social insurance to 4Ps beneficiaries, potentially making them future SSS pensioners.

“This program, we do appreciate it because you are tailor fitting your AlkanSSSya Program into a unique table of contribution that is particularly tailor fit to the financial capacity of our 4Ps beneficiaries,” Secretary Gatchalian said.

The new “4Ps AlkanSSSya Program” includes a subsidy table based on beneficiaries’ ability to pay a minimum monthly contribution of Php 570.00.

“We want to make sure that our 4Ps beneficiaries are self-reliant, self-sufficient, and productive members of society,” Gatchalian added.

4Ps beneficiaries can register as voluntary paying members of SSS. The registration and orientation will be conducted through family development sessions and the ‘Pugay Tagumpay’ exit program. Contributions can be made online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to SSS offices.

“Today’s MOA signing is a step towards the realization of our common goal of protecting the welfare of the most vulnerable sectors of society. Under the leadership of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, I know that your agency will focus on the development and deployment of automated systems for your priority frontline services, and streamline benefit disbursement,” SSS President Macasaet said.

Secretary Gatchalian emphasized that this initiative aligns with the government’s directives to upgrade the 4Ps program. The upgrades include improving automation systems, adjusting for inflation, and introducing new grants to prevent beneficiaries from falling back into poverty.

As of May 31, 4.3 million households nationwide receive conditional cash grants under the 4Ps program.

“Sa ganitong paraan, naniniwala po kami na pag grumaduate ang 4Ps beneficiaries namin sa programa, mayroon po silang SSS coverage na aasahan (In this way, we believe that when our 4Ps beneficiaries graduate from the program, they will have SSS coverage to look forward to,)” Gatchalian concluded.
