DSWD7 Distributes Cash Donation to SAF Kin
Immediate family members of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) who died during the January 25 bloody clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao recently received the cash donations pooled by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
It can be recalled that DSWD has opened a bank account to receive cash donations for the families of the 44 policemen killed last January 25.
Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. in an earlier press briefing pointed out that part of DSWD’s mandate is to look after the welfare of families of military and police personnel killed in action.
DSWD-7 regional director Mercedita Jabagat handed the cash aid worth Php 21,993.09 each to the immediate family members of PO3 Junrel Kibete, PO1 Windel Candano and PO1 Romeo Cempron.
The three police officials are from Cebu Province.
Kibete’s common law wife Irene together with their children Princess, Antoniette and Althea received the financial aid while Christine Cempron and Michelle Candano also received their respective cash donations.
“I’m happy to accept this donation because this is for my children,” said Irene.
DSWD was able to generate Php 967,695.96 worth of cash donations for the SAF 44 immediate kin. (Phoebe Jen Indino – Pantawid Pamilya Information Officer)
