DSWD Eyes Livelihood Program for Vendors Amid Pandemic
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is planning to give a P15,000 livelihood aid to vendors amid the COVID-19 pandemic. DSWD says that vendors are one of the most affected individuals during these trying times.
DSWD Undersecretary Restituto Macuto said that they are still waiting for President Duterte to approve of the program. DSWD is also expecting a senate hearing for them to acquire the budget for the said program.
DSWD also revealed that they are also planning to use the P10 billion fund that haven’t been used for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
“We have already oriented our Local Government Units (LGU) for this particular program. Hintay na lang po kami ng pondo,” said Macuto.
Meanwhile, the DSWD also promised to aid farmers and fishermen and to also conduct various feeding programs for children. (MLC)
