DSWD Awards Metro Cebu News as the ‘Most Supportive Online News’

Department of Social Welfare and Development 7 (DSWD-7) acknowledged Metro Cebu News (MCN) for their utmost support on their 69th Founding Anniversary last February 11, 2020, at the Cebu Ocean Park in Cebu City.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista and DSWD Regional Director Rebecca Geamala handed the Gawad Ulat Award Most Supportive Online News to Metro Cebu News for reporting DSWD’s important news, updates, and advisories.

DSWD also awarded Cebu Catholic Television Network (CCTN) Channel 47 as Gawad Ulat Most Supportive Television Network, DYHP RMN Cebu as Gawad Ulat Awardee Most Supportive Radio Station, SunStar Cebu and Superbalita as Gawad Ulat Awardee Most Supportive Newspaper (English) and (Cebuano), and Ms. Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon as Gawad Ulat Awardee Most Supportive Reporter (Print Media).

The Department thanked the media for their full support and hope for a more fruitful 2020.

Aside from the Gawad Ulat Award, DSWD also acknowledged their partners from the Local Government Units (LGUs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Employees for their outstanding programs and service for the people and the department.

DSWD’s celebration of their 69th Founding Anniversary kicked-off last February 3, 2020, with the theme “Social Integration: DSWD’s Major Thrust in line with the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.” (ASC)
