DSWD-7 Urges LGUs and NGOs to Avail Listahanan Statistical Data
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII urges Local Government Units (LGUs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to avail the Listahanan database statistical data.
“The Listahanan database is rich in data information like the demographics of the population covered in our household assessment as well as data on their access to safe water and electricity, quality of their housing materials, the tenure status of the family’s house and lot and their specific occupation which is available upon request,” said Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre.
Currently, the DSWD is in the process of finalizing the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the data sharing in consultation with the National Privacy Commission to ensure that the new MOA will be compliant with RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
The list of names and addresses of identified poor households can only be obtained upon execution of a data sharing agreement with the DSWD.
This is to protect the integrity of the data and to ensure that the list will be only used for implementation of social protection programs and services meant to improve their well-being.
“Once the MOA will be approved, we will immediately commence the sharing of the list of poor households based on the result of the second round household assessment,” Macapobre said.
While waiting for the new MOA, data users can access the statistical data on various poverty indicators available in the Listahanan database.
Data users can use the statistical data for planning and developing their own social protection policies, programs and services in their own locality.
The Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an administrative tool that identifies who and where poor households are in the country.
