DSWD-7 Supports Sinulog 2015 Contingency Plan

As part of the Cebu City government’s Sinulog Incident Command Team (ICT), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII has also prepared for any eventuality during the annual celebration of Sinulog Festival.

DSWD-7 is part of the operation and the logistics section of ICT.

In case of possible emergency situations, DSWD-7 will augment the Cebu City Social Welfare Office on logistics support such as distribution of family food packs and non-food items.

For possible evacuation, DSWD-7 also will augment personnel for camp coordination and management.

DSWD-7 has 30,000 family food packs and has P1 million standby funds that will be utilized for emergency purchase of goods, among others.

The creation of the Sinulog ICT was created during the orientation of Incident Command System for High Density Population on January 9 spearheaded by the Cebu City Government and Office of the Civil Defense. (Phoebe Jen Indino-Pantawid Pamilya Information Officer)
