DSWD-7 Calls for Volunteers for #OdettePH Relief Goods Repacking
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII calls for volunteers for the repacking of family food packs (FFPs) in the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Barangay Tingub, Mandaue City.
The continuous repacking of the family food packs is for the augmentation support of the Department to the Local Government Units (LGUs) heavily affected by Typhoon Odette.
Interested individuals or groups must register via text message to 09186776928 and look for Ms. Jenneth Aquino or 09173110020 and look for Mr. Jerloyd Suello.
The text message must contain the following details: complete name of volunteers, sex, contact number, and preferred day of repacking.
For those within Cebu City, interested volunteers can visit and personally register at the DSWD Field Office VII located in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
Volunteers are expected to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and should render a minimum of four (4) hours of repacking duty. The repacking schedule is from Sunday to Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm.
The DSWD-7 staff currently repack the relief goods in the regional warehouse located in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
Each FFP contains six (6) kilos of rice, 10 canned goods, five (5) sachets of coffee, and five (5) sachets of energy drinks, good for three (3) days for a family with five (5) members.
Accepting Donations
Meanwhile for those who would like to donate, the DSWD also accepts either in-kind or cash donations.
For in-kind donations, all food and non-food items are acceptable except for the following; food items expiring less than six months and expiring less than one (1) year for foreign in-kind donations, formula milk, toys that did not pass the FDS standards, furniture and equipment regulated by DND and NEDA, donations, services, or favor from Tobacco Industry, and used clothing.
Donors may proceed to the DSWD Field Office VII to hand in their in-kind donations.
