DSWD-7 Assists PWDs to Secure Employment
During this year’s commemoration of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD)-7 assisted various Persons With Disabilities (PWDs)
to get a decent job.
Proclamation No. 361 declares every third week of July as the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.
Currently, there are already 19 PWDs employed in different job industries.
Graeme Ferdinand Armecin, DSWD-7 OIC Division Chief for Policy and Plans Division said that these 19 employed PWDs started on January this year until present time.
The said PWDs undergone various trainings through the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center and most of them made it to the Spa and parlor industry, food industry and medical industry.
DSWD also said that they are consistently organizing various activities and programs for PWDs and also senior citizens. (MLC)
