DPWH Completes Workshop, Laboratory Buildings in Negros Occidental
Four new educational facilities are now in use in Salong National High School, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, after the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) recent turn-over of completed building projects.
Citing a report from Region 6 Director Lea N. Delfinado, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the facilities constructed include two regular workshop buildings with two (2) and three (3) storeys, a two (2)-storey science laboratory building, and a two (2)-storey Information and Communications Technology (ICT) laboratory.
“As we collaborate with the Department of Education (DepEd) in our pursuit to improve the education sector in the country, we shall continue undertaking projects that will put prime importance to the interest of the schools, teachers, and of course, the students,” said Villar.
The construction of the facilities is said to improve quality and access of education in the municipality, as it addresses the concern on the growing number of senior high school enrollees.
The four (4) building projects, with a total budget of P41 million funded under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) of DepEd, were implemented by the DPWH Negros Occidental 3rd District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Haydee S. Alunan. (DPWH PR)
