Donated Sinovac Vaccines to Arrive, Vaccine Rollout Under Evaluation

Department of Health (DOH) said that 600,000 doses of donated Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines are said to arrive in the next few days. However, the official time frame of the distribution is still under evaluation.

The DOH and the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) clarified that the details concerning the distribution of the vaccines are still under evaluation by the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

“The Department of Health (DOH) and the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) jointly clarify that as of press time, specific details as to the allocation and subsequent rollout of the 600,000 donated SINOVAC doses are still being evaluated pending the official recommendation of the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) and its approval by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID),” DOH said in a press release.

The donated vaccines will arrive in the country in the next couple of days at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City, according to DOH and NTF. (ASC)
