Domestic Workers Solidarity Network Launched in Jordan

The Solidarity Center in Jordan, in partnership with Adaleh Center for Human Rights, launched the Domestic Workers’ Solidarity Network in Jordan on September 19 at the Landmark Hotel in Amman. The Domestic Workers’ Solidarity Network in Jordan was set-up after one and a half year of trainings, workshops, seminars and meetings with foreign domestic workers in Jordan which include nationals from the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Ms. Luciana Obejas, a Filipino domestic worker and the Network’s representative, gave a short speech expressing the domestic workers’ appreciation for the efforts of Solidarity Center and Adaleh Center to support and protect foreign domestic workers’ rights.

Philippine Ambassador to Jordan Junever Mahilum-West and Ms. Princess Sharon Rose Satin, Cultural Officer, attended the event.
