The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has released more than P200,000 worth of livelihood aid to help boost small businesses in Nueva Vizcaya.

Ten micro-entrepreneurs from the towns of Diadi, Dupax del Sur, Kasibu, and Villaverde received livelihood kits under DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). These included support for snack vending, baking, karinderyas, and tutorial services.

DOLE-Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO) said the beneficiaries were chosen based on their compliance with labor and safety rules, and their need for more working capital.

DOLE-NVFO Head Elizabeth U. Martinez said the Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC) helped the recipients gain better knowledge in running and growing their businesses. Martinez, who is also a local entrepreneur, encouraged them to stay focused and determined.

“There will be ups and downs, but with hard work and determination, success is achievable,” Martinez said.

One of the recipients, senior citizen Leny Dagan, said the support gave her new hope to grow her small business. She thanked DOLE for the timely help.

DOLE said the program aims to support economic growth and help improve lives in vulnerable communities by giving them the chance to earn and build sustainable livelihoods. (ASC)
