DOLE and Megaworld Collaborate to Bring Employment Opportunities Closer to Job Seekers
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) continues to expand its partnerships with businesses, bridging the gap between job seekers and employment opportunities in the country.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls is the latest addition to DOLE’s growing list of partners. The official signing of the DOLE-Megaworld Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) solidifies this partnership.
Megaworld now joins the ranks of SM Supermalls and Robinsons Land Corporation, both of which established similar partnerships with DOLE back in April. These collaborations are aimed at enhancing employment facilitation services for job seekers by leveraging the resources and venues provided by these private sector partners.
On October 13, 2023, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Assistant Vice President Michael G. Lao formally inked the MOA at the DOLE Central Office.
Secretary Laguesma expressed his optimism regarding this new partnership with Megaworld, emphasizing the potential for network expansion.
“We are optimistic and confident that today’s signing of the DOLE-Megaworld partnership will serve as a valuable mechanism in expanding our existing network, where private partners extend their resources towards employment facilitation services,” Laguesma stated.
Furthermore, Lao highlighted that the partnership seamlessly aligns with Megaworld’s commitment to supporting the national government and its objectives.
As part of the agreement, Megaworld will generously offer its venues for DOLE’s job fairs and related activities at no cost, which includes the waiver of rental and utility charges. Megaworld will also actively promote these events through various channels, such as standees, billboards, online announcements, and traditional media.
On the DOLE’s side of the agreement, the organization will exclusively utilize the provided venues for its satellite job fairs and other activities. DOLE will also adhere to the mall’s rules, safety regulations, and security policies to ensure the smooth operation within the mall premises. (ASC)
