The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Monday renewed its partnership with Jobstreet.com, an affiliate of one of Asia’s leading online recruitment companies, to expand its efforts in helping jobseekers, especially the new entrants to the labor force and workers displaced by the global crisis, find skills and jobs via the Internet and other schemes.
“The DOLE continues its partnership with Jobstreet.com to boost the government’s effort in providing online employment services to jobseekers as well as to employers seeking skills that meet industry requirements,” said Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz during the signing of the DOLE-JobStart.com MOU on the occasion of the first quarter 2016 Kapihan at Balitaan Media Forum at the Midas Hotel in Pasay City.
Signing the MOU with Baldoz was Philip A. Garcia, country manager of JobStart Philippines. Baldoz lauded the staffing firm for extending its cooperation in providing the workers and employers easy online access to labor market information relevant to their search for jobs and needed skills.
Under the agreement, Jobstreet.com, in support of the DOLE’s Labor Market Information strategies, shall promote the DOLE-Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) and the JobsFit Labor LMI 2013-2020 through informational material, such as infographics, online banners, articles, and career resource features on joint studies to be conducted regularly and career resources page, banners, and social networking accounts.
Jobstreet.com will also provide electronic direct mail (EDM) blast of relevant labor marker information to the five million candidates in its database.
The said staffing firm will also support the Philippine Employment Service Office (PESO) job fairs through EDM blasting and website account promotions.
The DOLE, on the other hand, will provide Jobstreet.com with content materials on DOLE-LEES and JobsFit Report, and other LMI publication materials which will include employers’ rights and obligations, workers’ rights and responsibilities, work ethics, values, skills, and other relevant information. It will also provide JobStart with booths in DOLE and PESO job fairs in locations covered by JobStart.
