DOH warns public against Summer disease
The Department of Health (DOH) has warned the public to be cautious this hot season, as with it diseases that may ruin their vacation.
The DOH, in a press release, named the six common diseases this summer such as sore eyes, sunburn, cough and cold, loose bowel movement and fainting spells, skin diseases, and rabies from dog bites. For this reason, the DOH has advised the public to limit their stay under the sun, or better yet avoid it between 10A.M.-2P.M, when it is in its hottest. If they still would insist in not taking cover during this time of the day, the DOH said that sunblock lotion with sun protection factor 30 should be applied to the skin to prevent sunburn. Also, the health department has advised everyone to drink water at least eight glasses a day to prevent dehydration. As to the other illnesses, the DOH said if a person suspects he has any of them, it is advised to immediately seek help from the a physician to prevent it from getting worse.
