DOH Gives Free Health Kits to Nueva Vizcaya Brgys
Solano, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Department of Health (DOH) recently distributed at least free health kits to 216 barangays in the province with the launching of the “Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya” (TSeKap) here.
The health kits worth P35,000.00 each consist of 2 Nebulizers, 1 Stethoscope, 1 Dressing Set, 1 Digital Blood Pressure Apparatus, 1 Glucometer and 2 Non-Contact Thermometer.
Dr. Valeriano Lopez, DOH regional director for Cagayan Valley said the free health kits serve as an assistance to Rural Health Units (RHUs) and Rural Health Stations (RHS) to strengthen their health services for the villagers especially PhilHealth beneficiaries.
“With these kits, they will be empowered to perform their basic services inorder to address the minor ailments of their patients in their respective barangays,” he said.
TSeKap program, he said aims to equip local government units with essential medical equipments that will allow them to provide basic health services.
Lopez said the TSeKap is an on-going project of DOH in Cagayan Valley which also covers the establishment of 119 health buildings or centers in various schools and barangays without health stations.
Barangays which do not have health centers will be allowed to use those being established in schools to maximize the health services.
“This will be done this year to all provinces and barangays so that proper health services will be given to our clients in various communities,” Lopez said.
The TSeKap program covers the provinces of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan, Isabela and Batanes in Cagayan Valley. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
