DMCI Signs New Infra Projects worth PHP9-B

Construction firm D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) has signed major infrastructure projects worth PHP9 billion since the start of the year, boosting the country’s infrastructure development.

The construction unit of diversified engineering conglomerate DMCI Holdings Inc. said the projects include tollway, power and water projects from public and private proponents.

“Hopefully, this will be the start of the aggressive rollout of mega-infrastructure projects across the country. We really need the additional roads and facilities,” said DMCI president Jorge A. Consunji.

Awarded in January were the PHP1.3-billion Bued Viaduct at Section 3B-3 and roadway construction of Section 3B-4 Bued to Rosario, La Union of the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway of the Private Infra Development Corp. (PIDC).

This month, MPCALA Holdings, Inc. awarded DMCI a contract worth PHP7.2 billion for the Laguna portion of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway Project.

The National Power Corp. likewise awarded three projects to DMCI, namely the remedial work of the San Roque MPP Spillway Plunge Pool Area in Pangasinan; the supply, construction/installation, testing and commissioning of the Mansalay Switching Station and expansion of the Bansud and San Jose Substation Projects in Oriental Mindoro; and the rehabilitation of the Calapan-Bansud 69-kV transmission line project, also in Oriental Mindoro.

DMCI also won the bid to construct three projects for Maynilad Water Services — a pipe replacement project in Parañaque City, the construction of a 30ML Reservoir and Pump Station in Imus, Cavite, and the Putatan 20MLD Reverse Osmosis facility in Muntinlupa City. (PNA)
