‘Disiplina Muna’ Advocacy Campaign Launched in Region 10
In its quest to activate the real concept of good governance where each one is aware of his/her contribution in nation-building, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 recently launched the ‘Disiplina Muna’ Campaign at Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center, Cagayan de Oro City.
DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Ano who graced the event said that with the launching of #DisiplinaMuna in key cities, the promise of a better and brighter Philippines is within our arm’s reach.
“Towards the end of realizing our visions for this nation, we must ultimately recognize our individual roles in re-establishing the basic foundations of nation-building—and that is imbibing discipline,” Ano said.
“I am very delighted that Region 10 followed suit, and is one of the pioneering regions across the country to launch this initiative,” he added.
Disiplina Muna Advocacy puts premium on the DILG programs, projects, policies, and activities that shall serve as pillars of the said campaign. These include Road Clearing, Disaster Preparedness and Resilience, Anti-Smoking, Ease of Doing Business, Liquor Ban, Tourist Spots Clean-up, and Functional Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).
Meanwhile, DILG 10 Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe said that by emanating discipline in their own selves, leaders and public servants can provide better services to their respective clients and the people in the conduct of avowed duties.
“If we will be working together in ensuring that everyone will be disciplined, it is the general public who will be the primary beneficiaries of our efforts,” Agabe said.
Approximately 400 participants, composed of the Region’s local chief executives, regional line agencies, members of Regional Management Coordinating Committee, Civil Society Organizations, and the academe among others, expressed their commitment towards the success of the said advocacy.
With this, the Disiplina Muna Campaign enjoins the Local Chief Executives and heads of attached agencies to lead the campaign in their respective Local Government Units/attached agencies by undertaking relevant advocacy activities promoting the culture of discipline among their constituents, primarily based on the said pillars.
Disiplina Muna Campaign is anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 which aims to lay down the foundation for inclusive growth by ensuring people-centered governance towards Ambisyon Natin 2040 which envisions a matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay para sa lahat. (DILG)
