DILG’s Road Projects for Antique Up for Completion
Road projects amounting to P185 million of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) under the Conditional Matching Grant for Provinces (CMGP) are up for completion based on the latest monitoring conducted by the joint inspection team.
DILG information officer Judy Mae Magdato-Sajo said the province of Antique was granted P185 million in 2017 and 2018 for three road projects under the CMGP.
The funds were intended for the road repair, rehabilitation and improvement of the following provincial roads: Poblacion-Tamayoc-Cuyapiao in Patnongon amounting to P120.8 milion; Candari-Malumpati-Sto. Rosario Road in Pandan amounting to P17.2 million; and Tobias Fornier-Barasanan B-Apog-apog, Barasanan A-Bo. Gamad in Tobias Fornier amounting to P47.1 million.
Anna Carolina Jardiolin, DILG Antique program manager, during the exit conference reminded the contractors to abide by the schedule and quality standards of the project so as to complete the construction on time.
The inspection results showed that one out of three projects was completed, the Tobias Fornier, while the construction in Patnongon and Pandan are still ongoing with 96.81 percent completed in Patnongon and 23.87 percent in Pandan .
DILG Antique urged the contractors and program implementers to fast track the project implementation and submit documentation of rectification works. The ongoing projects are expected to be finished before the year ends.
The Joint Inspection Team is composed of DILG Antique-Project Development and Management Section and provincial government as the implementing unit of the program. Representatives from Provincial Planning Development Office (PPDO) and Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) as its implementing arm joined the team.
The results of the on-site inspection, validation and assessment were discussed during the exit conference by the members of the Joint Inspection Team together with the representatives of the contractors. (LTP/DILG/PIA-Antique)
