DILG Awards Capitol for Its Anti-Illegal Drug Advocacy
The Cebu Provincial Government’s initiatives to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs and to rehabilitate the victims have finally paid off.
The Province, through the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO), was recently awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Philippines for exceptionally performing its duties and responsibilities in planning and implementing the anti-illegal drugs program, projects and activities. The recognition was made during the 1st National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award last Dec. 28.
The Cebu Province was among the four awardees from Central Visayas that achieved an ideal high functionality rating, which garnered 85 to 100 points, along with the municipality of Argao, Mandaue City and Bohol Province.
On behalf of Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale, CPADAO Executive Director Carmen Remedios Durano, CPADAO Operations Division Head Diane Patricio and Manuel delos Santos received the award.
“(I am) very much honored to receive the 1st National DILG ADAC Performance Award in behalf of Governor Hilario Davide III given to the Province of Cebu, through CPADAO,” said Durano in her Facebook post.
According to the DILG, the award is given to local government units that achieved “an adjectival rating of ideal (high functionality) based on the 2017 ADAC Performance Audit.”
The DILG’s ADAC Performance Award recognizes the exemplary efforts of LGUs, through their respective ADACs, in complementing the efforts of the National Government in eradicating the country’s illegal drug problem.
A total of 241 provinces, highly-urbanized cities, component cities and municipalities were recognized by the DILG during the awarding ceremony held at the Tent City of Manila Hotel in Metro Manila. (Cebu Provincial Government)
