DFA’s e-passport Triggers Temporary Releasing Scheme

Published

on

The Department of Foreign Affairs(DFA) has strictly implemented the e-passport system starting Monday, April 1.

The new system has triggered the agency to implement a temporary releasing scheme. This mean that those who are applying for a passport must wait for 7 to 15 working days before it is completely released.

However, this will reach 10 to 20 days delay especially if the application is made in the satellite DFA offices.

Meanwhile, applying a passport from the regional consular office may observe much delay of 5 to 6 weeks before it is being release to the foreign service post.

However, the releasing scheme will end on April 15, and by that time the passport processing will be back to normal.
