DFA: Embassy in Seoul are monitoring Pinoys in Korea
With the heightened alert in South Korea already raised, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) assured on Monday that the Philippine Embassy in Seoul is monitoring the Filipinos there.
DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said there are more than 40,000 Filipinos in South Korea who may be affected with the security changes there after North Korea has declared war with it last week. Hernandez said alert level 1 was raised in South Korea on Monday following this turn of events.
Hernandez assured there is a “close coordination” with the Seoul government, the United States authorities and the United Nations in monitoring all Filipinos in South Korea.
