DepEd in Davao Region Asks PNP for Police Visibility in All Schools
Davao City — The Department of Education (DepEd) Region XI has asked the Philippine National Police (PNP) for police visibility in all schools when classes resume on Monday.
DepEd-XI, through its spokesperson Jenielito Atillo, also requested all personnel, stakeholders and clients to be vigilant at all times.
This, as DepEd officials condemned the explosion at the night market along Roxas Avenue last Friday that left 14 dead and 70 wounded, according to the latest report released by the City Hall on Sunday.
“Such act of violence has no place in a civilized society,” Atillo said, adding that DepEd is also asking authorities to leave no stone unturned in pursuing the perpetrators and to ensure that similar barbaric acts are prevented in the future.
In expressing solidarity with the nation, DepEd offered its deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims. (PNA) SCS/LILIAN C. MELLEJOR/LDP/RSM
