Dead Woman’s Body identified, Suspect Killed Self

The body of a dead woman which sustained a gunshot wound in her chest, found off a cliff in Barangay Cansumoroy, Balamban town, was identified yesterday by police authorities as Johamma Luage, 32, her killer was also found dead hours after she was found.

The suspect, as identified by eyewitnesses, was Barangay Captain Rey Oybenes of Mabini, Cebu City, who, hours after he allegedly dumped Luage’s body in Balamban, shot himself while inside a parked government-issued vehicle in Barangay Tigbao. Police found identification papers of Luage inside the barangay captain’s service vehicle. It is believed that Oybenes had a relationship with Luage.
