Day Care Centers in Cebu Receive Multimedia Sets
The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Cebu Provincial Federation recently distributed multimedia sets to day care centers in the province.
Four day care centers in each municipality and city in the province received the audio-video devices, which include TV and DVD set, for the day care children during the PCL General Assembly last December 2 at Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City.
“We identified an advocacy of the PCL and we decided to help our the day care centers all over the province since they really need support,” PCL-Cebu Provincial Federation President Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca said.
PCL-Cebu Provincial Federation has been supporting day care centers in the province since 2010.
The multimedia project is one of the requirements for the day care center accreditation in the province.
“We asked for the criteria from Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in order for our day care centers to be accredited so the support that we provided is based on the criteria that is needed for them to be accredited,” said Meca.
She added that last year, they gave educational toolkits to all day care workers. The educational kits comprise of tool books, reading materials, educational toys and educational materials for the day care children and workers.
“It is important that day care children should spend their learning in a place that is intellectually stimulating and conducive for learning,” she said.
“We also gave financial support for the rehabilitation and renovation of the day care centers in the province” Meca added.
Talisay City Social Welfare and Development Officer Felipa Solana expressed her gratitude to the PCL Cebu Provincial Federation for continuing its support to the day care children and workers in the province.
She said that the multimedia sets are useful instruments in developing and inspiring the children to learn.
