Davide to Meet Madrigal Today
Gov. Hilario Davide III has kept mum on what will transpire on his meeting with his embattled chief of security Loy Madrigal, or if he will meet him at all.
“We cannot issue a statement as of now. I read they will meet on Monday so unya na lang after sila mag talk,” said Capitol’s spokesperson Ethel Natera.
Davide early this week advised Madrigal to resign from all his positions at the Capitol after photos of him and his secretary in an intimate act went viral on Facebook. Madrigal, who is also chief of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing Task Force (PAIFTF), had said he wanted to talk to Davide in the hope to change the governor’s mind. Madrigal had said the photos, which were said to be taken inside the airport waiting lounge, were photoshopped.
And while Madrigal is waiting to takl to Davide, tens of fishers from Talisay City and towns in the south held a rally in support to Madrigal. According to them, Madrigal’s efforts against illegal fishing are helping them, the small fishermen.
