Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III told newly-installed Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Sr. Supt. Eric Noble he will not condone extrajudicial killings in the province.

“I don’t condone extra judicial killings,” Davide told Noble when the new provincial police director called on the governor at his office in the Cebu Capitol on Wednesday.

Noble assumed as CPPO director on Monday after the relief of Senior Superintendent Jose Macanas.

Davide told Noble the campaign against illegal drugs should be “aggressive” but should not result to extrajudicial killings.

Davide also urged Noble to investigate cases of summary executions in the province.

Noble was earlier briefed by Ivy Durano-Meca, executive director of the Cebu Provincial Anti-drug Abuse Office (CPADAO), on the Cebu Provincial Government’s anti-illegal drugs program.

Noble said he was impressed with the provincial government’s anti-illegal drug programs.

He vowed to intensify the Oplan Tokhang in the province as part of the administration’s campaign against criminality. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
