Davide Gets PB Nod to Sign Deed of Donation on Land Swap Deal with Cebu City
The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) approved on Monday a resolution allowing Gov. Hilario P. Davide III to sign a deed of donation for lots covered by the land swap deal between Cebu Province and Cebu City.
Authored by Celestino Martinez III, the resolution on the deed of donation, covers lots under the 93-1 agreement, which will be used for the City’s socialized housing programs and three more real properties intended for public use.
In December 2016, Davide and Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to resolve the land dispute between the Province and the City.
Under the agreement, the Province will trade 32. 4 hectares of its properties in exchanged for 16.4 hectares of land owned by the City.
The lots covered for the social housing project were spread to 11 different barangays, namely, Apas, Busay, Camputhaw, Capitol Site, Kalunasan, Kasambagan, Lahug, Lorega, Luz, Mabolo and Tejero.
Moreover, the three other Provincial-owned lots are the 15,000-square meter land on M. Velez St., Barangay Guadalupe; the 2,358-square meter area in Gorordo Ave., Barangay Lahug; and the 577-square meter estate on Don Gil Garcia St., Barangay Capitol Site.
The Cebu City Government, for its part, will hand over the Block 27, a two-hectare lot in the South Road Properties, which has huge potential for commercial development.
The City will also give to the Province its septage treatment plant in the North Reclamation Area and its property in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town.
Registered as lot No. 6033-B, the Province’s property on M. Velez St. located inside the Department of Agriculture Compound will be used by the City for a school site and a relocation area for informal settlers.
The City will utilize the property in Lahug for a police station and the Capitol Site lot is intended for public use. (CEBU GOV’T)
