Davide Defends PNoy

Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III yesterday defended President Aquino over insinuations that the president is giving an ultimatum to the Supreme Court, which earlier declared his Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) illegal.

“I doubt kung mao na ang tuyo sa President. I don’t think the president wants to be in collision with the Supreme Court,” said Davide in an interview with reporters.

Davide said Aquino even asked the High Tribunal to help him help the Filipinos.

“In his speech last Monday he said ‘help us help our countrymen,'” he said.

But despite this, Davide said he is not wearing anything yellow like Aquino, a Liberal Party (LP) leader, has appealed his supporters to do.

Davide, the LP’s chairman in Cebu said there is no need for him to do it. Last week, Aquino in his report to the nation explained that DAP is important for urgent matters. His speech came after the SC had declared DAP as unconstitutional.
