Davide Chairs Regional Peace and Order Council
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III on Friday effectively assumed the chairmanship of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), replacing Bohol Governor Edgar Chato, who also heads the Regional Development Council.
“As of last Friday, ako’y gipiling chairman sa regional peace and order council,” said Davide in an interview with the media.
Davide said he received the appointment letter on Friday last week from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas, stating that his being chairman of RPOC starts on that day.
The appointment was approved by President Benigno Aquino III.
The governor said he still has no agenda for the coming RPOC meeting, but assured to convene the council this month to discuss the concerns during their meeting last Friday at the Capitol Social Hall.
