Davao’s Durian Coffee Outlet to Open Branch in Malacañang Area Complex
Davao City — The franchise holder of Davao City’s homegrown BluGre Coffee, which pioneers the famous durian coffee, will open its first branch in Manila on December 8.
BluGre Coffee president and chief executive officer Gloria Cuaresma takes pride in bringing Blugre Coffee within the Malacañang complex area.
She said they had no plan of opening one in this area but “I think prayers lead us in finding a place in this complex.”
“The coffee shop will be located near Gate 6 and will be housed at the Belgica Residence with an area of 400 square meters. It is also very near the Casa Roces,” she said.
She said the famous Durian coffee is their best seller and she is positive they will get good response in the same way that their long time clients from Davao and other regions had been patronizing this.
The rice coffee will also be a new feature. They will also offer meals and pastries.
The Blugre Coffee near Malacañang will be their 10th branch, she added.
It already has six shops in Davao City, and one each in Tagum City, General Santos City and in Marbel, South Cotabato.
Cuaresma said new shops will be opened in Manila next year, of which two will be located in Makati, one each in Bonifacio Global City, BF Homes, Capitol, Greenhills, Mindanao Avenue, and Ortigas.
She said they are still in talks with partners in Singapore where they intend to initially open four shops. Although nothing is final yet, Cuaresma is positive of bringing BluGre outside the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Davao City will hold the Coffee Festival starting from September 23 to 25 at SM Lanang Premier. It will feature different flavors and delightful aromas at the festival’s Pop-up Cafe participated by coffee companies to include among others, BluGre Coffee, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Organo Gold, Meridian Specialty Coffee, Archetype Specialty Coffee and Coffee for Peace.
During the festival, there will be live coffee demos on coffee making by Archetype and Meridian.
A live demo on the art of coffee painting will be handled by Coffee for Peace and Tabula Rasa artists on September 24 and 25 where mall-goers can also participate in the coffee painting session. (PNA) FPV/LCM/DIGNA D. BANZON/LDP
