Davao Taxi Company Launches Net Application for Taxi Booking
A homegrown cab company launched an android booking application for its taxi units aimed at serving better the riding public and initially provided 500 mobile phones to their taxi drivers.
For the project, Martin Hao, chief executive officer (CEO) of Southern Maligaya, Inc. said they commissioned local developer LEET Digital to create the application dubbed as TaxiLink, which the company founders Dorothy Falcon and Myron Festejo worked on the application for eight months.
Festejo said the application is simple and user-friendly and the only difference with other similar applications is that it is company based and dedicated to Maligaya fleet.
The application will regularly be updated, he said.
Meanwhile, Hao said they have also included places to be visited like the 30 restaurants “Eventually we will also include the list of hotels and spa as there are the common destinations that most tourists asked from the drivers,” he added.
He said this improvement is a support to the tourism industry.
Davao City’s business environment he said is doing good hoping that taxi service industry will also improve with more visitors/tourists coming to our city.
The application is available at the Google store and downloadable for free. For iOS users, the app will be released next week, he said.
Hao said this booking service is more efficient and convenient for the riding public.
“This will level up the current system that we are using through phone calls and text requests which reach a thousand daily,” he said. So far, he said they are getting positive feedback. (PNA)
