Dancesport Team Cebu City Sets 2015 Activities
Dancesport Team Cebu City (DTCC) continues its advocacy of promoting dance sports in Cebu through several activities held throughout the year.
On February 15 & 16, 2015, Dancesport will hold the qualifying event for the Philippine National Games 2015 and the regional Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA)/Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) dance sport competition.
Dancesport Cebu will also participate in the first quarterly ranking and competition organized by the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines Inc. that will be held on March 14 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila City.
DTCC is also organizing the Dance Camp Cebu 2015 from April 9-12, 2015 at the Mountain View Nature Park in Barangay Busay, Cebu City. The dance camp is open to dance enthusiasts, Physical Education teachers and students, among others.
It will be fun time again for the youth in Cebu City when Dancesport Cebu conducts its Free Dancesport Summer Workshop from April 1 to May 24. The summer workshop will be held at various public schools in Cebu City, such as Barrio Luz Elementary School, Inayawan Elementary School, Lahug Elementary School, San Nicolas Elementary School, Mabolo Elementary School, Labangon Elementary School, Hippodromo Elementary School, Tejero Night School, Apas Elementary School, Punta Princesa Elementary School, Pardo Elementary School, Don Vicente Rama Memorial Elementary School, Mambaling Elementary School, Zapatera Elementary School, Cebu City Central School and the Cebu City Sports Center.
Dance sport athletes who qualified during the dance competition held in February will join the Philippine National Games 2015 Dance Competition organized by Philippine Olympic Committee-Philippines Sports Commission on May 26 to June 1 that will be held Manila.
The culmination of the Dancesport Summer Workshop will be held on June 7 at the Cebu City Sports Center badminton court. As part of the culmination day, those who participated in the workshop will show their newly-learned skills during the closing program and the interschool dancesport challenge.
On June 16, Dancesport Cebu will continue its promotion of dance sport at the barangay level by holding its first leg of the 3rd season of the Dance Sport Barangay Competition Circuit 2014 at the CCSI-San Nicolas Sports Complex.
On July 19, the Dance Sports Council of the Philippines Inc. is set to hold its midyear ranking and competition at the Philsports Arena, Meralco Ave., Pasig City.
The DTCC athletes will also join the 19th DSCPI national championship and the “City of Smile” dancesport championship that will be held in October. The DSCPI national championship will be held at the Philsports Arena, Meralco Ave., Pasig City while the second event is slated to be held in Bacolod City.
On the other hand, the Batang Pinoy Finals 2015 Dancesport competition will take place in November.
The DTCC athletes will also showcase their dancing skills at the Pasko sa Sugbu 2015 Night of DTCC on December 2 at the Fuente Osmeña Circle.
