Daily Cases of COVID-19 in PH Continue to Drop, Cebu Stark Contrast
Daily new COVID-19 cases in the country continue to plummet as the Department of Health (DOH) announced that the tally of 17,382 new cases today is lower that the 18,638 new cases recorded on Friday.
Moreover, DOH added that 35,382 have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of individuals recovered to 3,261,338.
Around the country, multiple regions and cities are reporting developments in the fight against COVID-19, with San Juan City reporting that their active cases dropped by 72% in 2 weeks, NCR being downgraded to ‘moderate risk’ for COVID-19 along with other neighboring provinces such as Bulacan and Rizal.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 situation in Cebu is still worsening, as the OCTA research group said that Cebu is still a ”very high risk” area for COVID-19.
This comes as Cebu recorded 722 new cases per day from January 19 to 25, which is more double than that of the 325 daily recorded cases the previous week. (GFB)
