Dagupan to Build 400 Housing Units for Families Living in Danger Zones
Dagupan City (PNA) — The city government is set to build 400 housing units on a city government land in Barangay Bonuan Boquig for families living in danger zones like banks of rivers and sea shores.
This was bared by Mayor Belen Fernandez who said the City Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Mrs. Leah Aquino already conducted an inventory of families living in danger zones who are set to be given their respective houses.
Fernandez expressed hope that the 400 housing units will be completed before the year ends.
The mayor called on families who built their abodes in danger zones to relocate to the housing project where they will be given houses that they will call their own and be freed of risks in case rivers overflow their banks and when storm surges occur.
Fernandez and City Engineer Virginia Rosario visited some of these families and got their assurance to avail of houses in the housing project.
The houses are in addition to the existing housing project of the city in Sitio Korea, Bonuan Binloc where families of scavengers living within the city dump site were earlier assured of their own houses. (PNA) SCS/LVM/LVMICUA/RMA
