Dad Assures Flood-Proof Talisay
Talisay City Councilor Danny Caballero assured that the city will have a better drainage system once the new administration settles in.
Caballero’s promise came after several barangay residents complained of flooding following Thursday’s deluge. The reelected councilor admitted that for a long time the city has been experiencing the same problems every rainy season, thus he assured that in the next three years together with his partymates, they would give his focus on it.
Caballero is a Liberal Party member, the same with Talisay’s incoming mayor and vice mayor, Johnny V. delos Reyes and Romeo Villarante, respectively.
The past administrations had pegged the amount for an integrated drainage system to be at least P105 million, and Caballero said that due to lack of funds they may take it on a phase-by-phase approach starting with the most severely affected areas like Barangay Poblacion.
Since Wednesday night, several households from Poblacion were submerged with floodwater, the same case each time when it rains.
