CV Police on Full Alert on Monday Polls
For secure and safe midterm elections, PNP Central Visayas (CV) goes full alert starting this week.
Senior Supt. Armando Radoc, chief of the Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division of the Police Regional Office 7, said they have to do it to make sure the region is safe from any election-related violence, which is common in the country.
Earlier, there were reports of such cases but out of the 12 of them, only three were confirmed as such, said Radoc. These all happened in Buenavista and Cortes towns in Bohol wherein shooting that involves barangay officials were recorded between February and April this year.
There may be election hotspots in Cebu, but Radoc said there has been no election-related incident reported to them yet.
The full alert status has been raised to ensure that the country is secure and safe on or before the voters cast their votes on Monday.
