CPDRC Prison Guards, High-profile Inmate Dead on Ambush
Two Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) personnel and a high-profile drug inmate were ambushed in Brgy. Kalunasan, Cebu City on September 13, 2018.
The victims were identified as prison guards Bernie Bayutas, Jovel Tevez and the high-profile inmate Jerryfer Peligrino who was jailed for drugs.
According to initial reports, the CPDRC service vehicle was traversing along Unit 5, Oprra, Brgy. Kalunasan, Cebu City when a riding-in-tandem went close to them and gunned the vehicle.
Peligrino was scheduled to attend a court hearing in Cebu City Hall of Justice in Qimonda Bldg, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.
A case was supposed to be filed against Peligrino after he yielded packs of shabu on a greyhound operation in CPDRC. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
