Couple Arrested for Cybersex, 3 Minors Rescued
A team from the Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RAHTTF) rescued three minors and arrested a couple for alleged involvement in cybersex operation in Barangay Ibabao, Cordova on Thursday.
Senior Inspector Maria Theresa Macatangay, chief of RAHTTF, said the rescued minors were aged 11, 12 and 13, while arrested the couple involves a pregnant woman, 30, and her live-in partner.
Macatangay said they operated based on the information they received that there was a cybersex den in the said area. Through a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 11 Judge Ramon Daomilas Jr., the RAHTTF team, together with representatives from the International Justice Mission, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Justice, and United States Department of Homeland Security, conducted a raid in the area.
Macatangay said the minors were already turned over to the DSWD for intervention, while the couple will be charged with violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act (RA 10364) and other possible criminal cases.
