Convergys Concludes Give a Bag of Hope 2
Brand ambassador Alden Richards graces campaign’s closing event
to recognize 33,245 bags of hope and P18 million raised by employee contributions
Convergys, the country’s largest private employer, recently concluded the second run of its Give a Bag of Hope (GABOH) campaign this 2016. Aimed at helping alleviate school dropouts due to lack of school supplies, GABOH Year 2 included books and a storytelling session for children.
Convergys brand ambassador Alden Richards graced the culminating event, which was held in Convergys Megamall to announce the results of the program. The employee-driven campaign almost doubled its records in 2015 of 22,000 bags of hope and P9 Million pesos. This year, a total of 33,245 bags with books and supplies totaling P18 million were given to Grades 1 to 3 students in 40 public schools and communities across the country, contributed by 42,000 Convergys Philippines employees who donated.
Says Alden Richards, “Thank you for welcoming me to be part of the team. I am proud to be among individuals who are just as passionate, determined, and driven. Thank you for inspiring communities to do their best in achieving their dreams and building stories of success.”
According to Convergys President for Asia-Pacific Ivic Mueco, “It is wonderful to see our employees sustain the culture of giving, demonstrate our company value of ‘Serving The Community’, and exceed their previous contributions. Through this program and many others, our employees make a difference in the communities where they live and work. They are helping children be one step closer to their dreams. We look forward to continuing this program again next year.”
The Give a Bag of Hope campaign is part of Convergys’ commitment to leverage employee volunteerism to create positive change in the areas where it operates. It is also aligned with one of Convergys’ focus areas for philanthropy – which is to remove barriers to stability and improve quality of life.
