Consultation Workshop on EDGE Training Program Set on March 24 – 25

The International Labor Organization (ILO) Bureau for Employers’ Activities and Enterprises Department, in collaboration with the Employers’ Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) Visayas Chapter led by its President Jose Ng and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), will be conducting a consultation and pilot testing workshop on the EDGE (Enterprised Development Growth Enhancement) program for SMEs on Business Continuity Planning for Disaster Preparedness on March 24-25, 2015 at Harolds Hotel.

The EDGE training program aims to provide support for Employers’ Organizations (EOs) including ECOP to facilitate membership services’ delivered to SMEs by associations and chapters especially during disaster preparation.

The Specific Module on SME Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for Disaster Preparedness will support SME in the Philippines to better prepare for different levels of disaster situations by identifying exposure to internal and external threats, performing impact analysis to assess various risk management strategies and developing plans to continue operations if the enterprise is affected by adverse physical conditions.

A half day consultation workshop will be conducted for ECOP officers, ECOP Membership Committee and Cebu Chapter representatives to discuss the EDGE methodology, service delivery models and potential impact on membership on March 24, 2015 at Harolds Hotel from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

Subsequently, a one day workshop would then follow to market test the training tool among the SMEs from various sector associations and to gather further inputs from the SMEs for finalization of the module on March 25, 2015 at Harolds Hotel from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
