These include the 20,000 seating capacity Athletic Stadium, 2,000 seating capacity Aquatics Center and an Athletes’ Village.

“The Athletes’ Village has a total of 525 units wherein 95 of which are specifically intended for Persons with Disabilities; amenities gym, library and conference rooms in each floor; kitchen and dining area; basketball court; swimming pool; and deck gardens,” Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) Deputy Director General for Athletes’ Village Arrey Perez said.

PHISGOC officials led by Chairperson and Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano inspected the facilities Saturday, which was highlighted by the installation of composite columns for the Athletic Stadium.

In that inspection, Bases Conversion and Development Authority President and Chief Executive Officer Vivencio B. Dizon disclosed that construction of a nine-kilometer, four-lane SCTEX-McArthur Highway Access Road is ongoing.

“Upon completion by September 2019, travel time from SCTEX to NCC will be reduced to 10 minutes from the current 40-60 minutes,” Dizon said.

Also, the construction of a 15-kilometer, 6-lane NCC-Clark Freeport Zone Access Road shall start soon.

“It will pass through the scenic Sacobia area with dedicated bike and pedestrian lanes. Upon completion next year, travel from NCC to the New Passenger Terminal of Clark International Airport will just be 15 minutes. It will also be connected to the Philippine National Railways Clark line,” Dizon shared. (CLJD-PIA 3)
