Consolacion Town To Complete Health Worker Vaccination

The town of Consolacion in the northern part of Cebu started the roll out of vaccine on Wednesday, March 31, as part of the country’s on going battle against COVID-19.

The Municipal Health Office of Consolacion targets 800 health workers to be vaccinated and 138 of them were successfully injected with Sinovac and AstraZeneca doses on the first day of the vaccination.

The vaccination in Consolacion will hopefully be completed on Tuesday, April 6.

“I am happy nga nakasugod na gyud ta, there is a feeling of relief kay it has been quite a long time nga naghuwat ta nga muabot na unta diri sa atoang lungsod mismo ang vaccine,” said Consolacion Mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” Alegado to Metro Cebu News.

Mayor Alegado added that the sooner the vaccination is completed the better since health workers and other frontliners are the ones who are mostly exposed to the disease.

“We know that the answer or key to this pandemic is vaccination. We are running out of time so ang ato ana kay ma paspasan ang pag bakuna sa atong mga katawhan,” the Mayor added.

Meanwhile, Geraldine Esmitt, a barangay health worker from Barangay Pulpogan told Metro Cebu News that she is very happy that she has been vaccinated. She said that she can now protect herself and her family from the disease.

“Nalipay gyud kog maayo sir kay karon protektado nako, protektado na akong pamilya batok sa covid. Busa kamo dapat gyud magpa vaccine ta para mawala nani atong kahadlok sa sakit,” Esmitt said.

Futhermore, the Local Government Unit of Consolacion will continue to do its part on consistently implementing health and safety protocols to prevent the further rise on COVID-19 cases. (MLC)
