Consolacion to Solve Its Traffic Problem
The northern town of Consolacion is one of the most traffic congested places in Cebu therefore, Consolacion Mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” Alegado gathered the traffic coordinating council to come up with a solution.
Alegado met with the task force including the Consolacion Traffic Enforcement System (CTES), Municipal Engineering, General Service Office, Philippine National Police, Municipal Legal and Municipal Planning.
Last Saturday, heavier traffic occurred in the town of Consolacion mainly because of a project from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and fiesta celebrations in two barangay.
Motorists were ordered to take an alternative route in the North Road National Highway.
Alegado said that he will notify concerned authorities to collect any obstruction on the road.
Meanwhile, the CTES presented their new rerouting plans and schemes.
Part of the said rerouting is the implementation of the “no left turn policy” in the intersection of SM Consolacion for motorists traveling from the northern part of Cebu to Laray road during rush hours, 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
It was also discussed that a “no loading and unloading policy” will also be implemented in the vicinity of Mcdonald’s.
Street signs will be placed for motorists to be guided.
Meanwhile, Alegado also encouraged and mandated all traffic enforcers to undergo seminar courses to be more efficient in the field. (MLC)
