Consolacion Police Station Bags Gold Eagle Award in PGS

The Consolacion police station got the “Gold Eagle Award” from the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO)-7 during the Performance Governance System (PGS) conferment ceremony on September 20.

The ceremony was held at the grand convention center in Cebu City, where hundreds of policemen and members of the peace and order committee from different towns and regions were present.

The Consolacion police station was the only police station in Cebu province to get the Gold Eagle Award garnering over 96% proficiency percentage.

In an exclusive interview with MCN, Police Major Verniño Noserale expressed his joy for gaining the award.

“As the new chief of police of the Consolacion police station, I’m very proud and at the same time honored for this accomplishment. It’s an achievement on my part and at the same time its a challenge,” Noserale said.

Noserale gave gratitude to everyone including his police team at the Consolacion police station, the Local Government Unit of Consolacion and every citizen for making the moment possible.

Noserale gave special recognition to former Consolacion chief of police Police Major Gerard Ace Pelare.

“It is really worth to mention also the effort of major Pelare for this very memorable and very fulfilling conferment,” Noserale said.

Noserale is the current chief of police of the Consolacon police station for 2 months already after serving Minglanilla police station as the chief as well for quite some time.

Meanwhile, municipal councilor and peace and order committee chairman Hon. Benjamin Tibon also expressed his joy upon gaining the said award.

“Matawag nato ni siya usa ka dako kaayong garbo sa lungsod sa Consolacion ilabi na sa field sa peace and order council. Nakita sab gyud nato nga ang atong kapulisan nag lihok gyud (This is a very big accomplishment for our town especially in the field of peace and order. It is also very visible that our policemen are doing their jobs
properly),” Tibon said.

Meanwhile, Police Colonel Roderick Mariano, Provincial Director of the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) told MCN that such awards show how a policeman and a police station in general do their job well.

“Dito sa police governance system pinapakita dito kung yung ating kapulisan ay talagang nagagawa niya ng maayos yung trabaho niya at pinakita rin dito kung sino yung mga stations na maganda yung pinakita nila sa buong taon nato (The police governance system shows if a policeman or a station is really doing their job well all throughout the year),” Mariano said.

Other towns in Region-7 also got different awards.

Awards were turned over by Police Brigadier General Sterling Blanco, director of the Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM) and PRO-7 regional director Debold Sinas. (MLC)
