The Municipality of Consolacion conducts weekly disinfection and general cleaning in its public market. Every Wednesday, the market is closed to the public to conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection to help contain COVID-19.

The public market disinfection is in line with Mayor Joannes “Joyjoy” Alegado’s memorandum.

Market supervisor Narciso Pilapil said that the whole-day disinfection is much more efficient compared before that when it was only conducted in the afternoon.

“So this week na sugod na gyud ta nga whole day gyud kay as per memo ni Mayor nga Wednesday is disinfection day gyud siya,” Pilapil said

Meanwhile, the implementation of “disinfection day” on Wednesday also affected the people’s schedule to buy goods in the market. However, a new set of schedule was released.

“Naay bagong gi craft nga scheduling si Mayor, actually ato naning gi post napod sa LGU Consolacion page nga i-adjust natog laing adlaw sila,” added Pilapil.

The new schedule still consists of two clusters, clusters A and B with one cluster being able to buy goods in the morning, and the other cluster may buy goods in the afternoon.

Pilapil also reminded all business owners in the market to observe health and safety protocols like wearing a face masks, social distancing, and more. (MLC)
